One way to prevent or stop hair loss is to make sure your hair has adequate strength, moisture, and elasticity, which will protect individual strands of hair from brittleness and breakage. According to Hairfinder.com, two vitamins that can help with this include vitamins C and A. Vitamin C protects your cells and your hair from damage and is essential for the production of collagen, a necessary component of hair growth. Meanwhile, vitamin A is so important to hair health that one symptom of a dietary deficiency of this vitamin is hair loss.
A diet rich in these vitamins will help prevent or stop hair loss. Because mangoes have high amounts of both of these vitamins, this fruit is considered a hair-health powerhouse. A single cup of sliced mango contains about 80% of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin C and 25% of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin A, reports the Mango Board.
However, mangoes do not have to be eaten to be effective. Combined with cocoa butter, which is frequently used in skin care products for its ability to moisturize skin and hair, mango butter can be used in a scalp- and hair-conditioning cream, a hair loss treatment that you can create at home.
To make this cream, you need a double-boiler, shea butter, cocoa butter, mango butter, jojoba oil, grapeseed oil, and vitamin E oil.
First, use the double boiler to melt the shea butter. The shea butter needs to be kept at 175 degrees for twenty minutes. Stir it frequently to prevent it from scorching. After twenty minutes, reduce the temperature and add the cocoa and mango butters. Stir the butters as they melt together. After they have melted, add the jojoba, grapeseed, and vitamin E oils, and remove the inner pot from the heat. Next, whip the butters and oils together until they form a cream that has the consistency of a meringue. Do not use the cream until it has cooled to room temperature. This hair loss treatment can be stored in an airtight container for up to six months in a cool, dry location.
You can use this hair loss treatment any time your hair needs a boost of nutrients. For best results, divide your hair into sections. Starting with the scalp, massage the cream into your hair’s roots, then work liberal amounts of the solution along the length of your hair. When your hair is saturated, cover it with a plastic cap and then with a towel so that the heat from your head can activate the cream. Allow the cream to work for at least twenty minutes before rinsing your hair with warm water and washing it and styling it.
